| CRI releases new version of SmartFan Stratus VFD |
SmartFan Stratus is an economical, yet highly versatile variable frequency drive that provides precise variable speed control of single- and three-phase fans, motors and pumps. VFDs are compatible with more motors, can control to lower speeds, have a more linear control curve and are more energy efficient at reduced speeds than a TRIAC (voltage) based controller.
This microprocessor based VFD is ideal for applications including environmental control (temperature, humidity, pressure, flow), clean room pressurization, equipment cooling, exhaust ventilation and heating/air conditioning systems. On-board programming allows the setting of many parameters providing maximum flexibility. Stratus operates from a 115 or 230 VAC single-phase power supply. Output power is 3 Amps for three-phase motors and 4 Amps for single-phase motors. Motor speed can be based on several control inputs including control signal (4-20mA, 2-10VDC), Temperature (thermistor), 0-18 VDC transducer or Modbus communication link. SmartFan Multi SR is digital fan speed control and alarm board provides a reliable, off-the-shelf solution for controlling the cooling of telecommunications equipment.
The control and alarm parameters of the SmartFan Multi SR can be modified via on-board jumpers and FLASH microprocessor programming which allow selectable settings to control temperature and fan alarm trigger speed, 24 or 48 VDC operation, and isolated on-board power for 12C. SmartFan Multi SR accepts and diode ORs dual power feeds in the range from 36 to 75 VDC. Maximum fan current is 4.0 amps (still air) and 5.0 amps (200 ft/min air stream) at 55o C. Soft start and current limiting at start up are included.
SmartFan Multi SR supplies voltage to up to six 24 VDC or 48 VDC fans and accepts temperature (thermistor) inputs from up to three OR’d sensors while providing proportional speed control to the fans. Speed control can also be based on accepting control signals (PWM, DC) or via a 12C bus.
