| CRI releases new version of SmartFan Stratus VFD |
SmartFan Stratus is an economical, yet highly versatile variable frequency drive that provides precise variable speed control of single- and three-phase fans, motors and pumps. VFDs are compatible with more motors, can control to lower speeds, have a more linear control curve and are more energy efficient at reduced speeds than a TRIAC (voltage) based controller.
This microprocessor based VFD is ideal for applications including environmental control (temperature, humidity, pressure, flow), clean room pressurization, equipment cooling, exhaust ventilation and heating/air conditioning systems. On-board programming allows the setting of many parameters providing maximum flexibility. Stratus operates from a 115 or 230 VAC single-phase power supply. Output power is 3 Amps for three-phase motors and 4 Amps for single-phase motors. Motor speed can be based on several control inputs including control signal (4-20mA, 2-10VDC), Temperature (thermistor), 0-18 VDC transducer or Modbus communication link. SmartFan Cirrus-6 is a digital fan speed control and alarm that offers an off-the-shelf cooling solution for 4-wire DC fans and blowers. Cirrus-6 can control and monitor tach pulses from up to six 12, 24 or 48 VDC fans with open collector or 0-12 VDC control signal requirements. The controller accepts fan speed commands (including on/off) and provides individual pass/fail fan status via an I2C interface. The I2C interface also provides temperature readings from an on-board thermistor and EEPROM storage.
The Cirrus-6 can be configured to control fan speed based on temperature or analog control signal (PWM, 5.0 VDC). Configuration of the Cirrus-6 is settable via I2C interface or options can be set at the factory to your specifications. Special and custom configurations are available. Control Resources is pleased to announce the addition of Jody Smith to the company. Jody assumes the position of National Sales Manager and will be responsible for managing customer relations with existing production customers as well as overseeing new opportunities.
Jody brings an extensive and successful sales background to CRI. He has 20 years of field sales and strategic account management experience, first with a major distributor of wire, cable and interconnect products and then with a global distributor of electronic components.
