Control Resources offers the SmartFan line of off-the-shelf and custom motor, pump and fan speed control product applications.
SmartFan DC fan and motor speed control products regulate based on temperature (thermistor), control signal (PWM or DC) or I2C communication link. Temperature alarms and fan failure alarms are available on certain models. Complete custom control design and manufacturing services are available to provide you with the optimum cooling solution for your OEM control application.
Managed or intelligent FRU ATCA compliance is available.

Electronics Cooling
All of Control Resources' DC & AC Controls can be used in electronics cooling applications to regulate air mover speed to control temperature and reduce acoustical noise. Typical OEM applications include file servers, ATE products, storage subsystems, medical devices and telecommunications equipment. |
Medical Instruments & Power Supplies
The SmartFan Wisp is a temperature, fan speed control and temperature alarm circuit contained in a 1/2"D x 3"L probe that can be mounted in the exhaust or inlet of any heat producing equipment. For controlling multiple fans, low air volume applications or unusual fan types, the Wisp is a cost effective choice.

Telecommunications Equipment
Control Resouces specializes in fan controls for the telecommunications industry. The SmartFan Multi SD, Multi SR, Vortex, and Fusion were specifically designed for telecommunications cooling applications. Features available with the Multi SD, Multi SR, Vortex, and Fusion include:
- Accepting diode OR'd dual power feeds from 10 to 75 VDC
- Soft start and current limiting
- Speed control for 12, 24, or 48 VDC fans
- Speed control based on temperature (thermistor), PWM DC signal or via a serial communication (I2C) bus
- Multiple programmable alarm and fan status outputs
- Voltage boost circuit that will maintain required voltage to the fan even when the supply voltage drops below what is needed
- Managed or intelligent FRU ATCA compliance
